Alpina Roadster V8

To make the already impressive Z8 even more desirable, Alpina took the E39 alloy V-8 from the 540i, punched it out to 4.8 liters, and paired to BMW's very capable five-speed Steptronic automatic transmission - among other additions. Thus emerged the BMW Alpina V8 Roadster, a more refined and appointed Z8. The aluminum alloy body shell and chassis were produced at BMW's Dingolfing factory, while the engine with its hand-matched pistons, connecting rods, and polished ports were assembled at Alpina in Buchloe. The powertrain and chassis were then mated in a dedicated shop at the Munich factory. Just 555 examples of this Alpina variant would be built, each with a specially numbered plaque between the seats, replacing the standard Z8 badging.

AH62507 was completed in Summer 2003 and purchased new through Bavarian BMW of Michigan by Mr. MacVoy, a resident of both Michigan and Florida. The ALPINA remained within the same family and the greater Detroit area until late 2021. Sporting Jet Black paint over Sport Red/Black leather upholstery, it is believed to be one of 37 examples finished as such in 2003 and comes complete with a host of original accompanying equipment and remains in excellent preserved and unmodified condition.

Supported by a records binder and original window sticker, notable 2021 services include a July fluid flush to all systems, along with correct new Michelin tires, battery and alignment by Erhard BMW of Bloomfield. Followed by a November 2021 multipoint inspection, vacuum and recharge of the air conditioning system, front thrust rod bushings and axle, power steering hoses and reservoir by BMW of West Houston. Additionally, the vehicle's hardtop would receive a professional reupholster of the headliner, which often loosen over time.

Today the Alpina remains in exceptional original and well-preserved condition with 17,350 recorded miles - displaying original paint, trim, fittings, upholstery and glass. The car is accompanied with hardtop vents, access covers, wrenches (x2), rear window protective cover, stand and branded top cover. As well as the original air compressor, complete tool roll and gloves, branded charger, unopened BMW 'car spa' towel, first aid kit, wind deflector with stowage pouch, and BMW Ownership Experience package. This is further supported by original keys + fob pouch, and all owner's manuals in leather Alpina folio.
