Sold new in France, this BMW 700 has had only three owners. The first kept it till 1973, covering 55,000 km before it changed hands to his nephew, who whilst considering as a vintage car, treated it as such and used it very sparingly. He sold the car in 2009 to its present owner, who completed a preventive check on the brakes, the transmission, the ignition and the electrical. Most recently, he changed the clutch and carried out a major service on the gearbox.
Free of corrosion, the body is in an exceptional state of preservation. The white paint called "Papyrosweiss" is original, with barely a few touch-ups. The interior is also original, with seats, floor mats, door panels, roof lining, accessories and instruments in excellent condition. The only defect we could see was a small part of the top of the dashboard that had been deteriorated by the sun.
Its twin-cylinder 700cc unit, derived from the famous BMW motorcycles "Series 2", that helped establish the brand's reputation, propels the light car with much vivacity. The tools, the workshop manual, invoices and the logbook will be delivered with the car.
