The History
The BMW 635CSi is one of the cars that symbolized the hedonism of the 1980s: an icon of the wildest yuppism, it marked BMW history for its distinctive style and for the contribution to the sports feats of Munich manufacturer.
The "6 Series" was presented in the exclusive town of Marbella (Spain) in 1975: the line was the work of the "master" Paul Bracq, who for the new Bavarian luxury coupe was able to skillfully blend elegance, sportiness and prestige.
The 6 Series was initially built on the platform of the E12, the first generation of the 5 Series, but was configured as a car with a larger size (over 4.75 m).
Its pointed profile, outlined by the very inclined nose and thin struts immediately earned it the nickname "Shark": the double circular headlights, the double central kidney and made the 6 Series particularly personal and it was not difficult to imagine it just like a shark hunting last overtaking.
Immortalized in many films, it was paired with the Mercedes-Benz SEC, although at the antipodes in terms of image and road behavior they were among the most sought-after high-end coupes.
The high performance and refined lines outline a very successful mix that finds shape in the BMW 635 CSi, a model particularly coveted and sought after by collectors. The character of a ravenous beast is emphasized by the more profiled bumper and generous off-center exhausts that are waiting to sing to the notes of the Bavarian 6-cylinder
