Description

This is a rare BMW 2002 Baur Targa. One of only 2317 examples made, and completely restored to concours condition. The car was delivered new in France in the convertible-only colour of Condor Gelb, and this unique colour combination is kept during the extensive restoration a couple of years ago. The body is restored with original BMW body panels, and the interior is completely retrimmed in period correct vinyl as per factory specification. The Baur conversion was only available on the 2002 model, and was an official but rather expensive factory optional equipment, which explains the rarety of the car.

Driving this 2002 Baur is a pleasure, both in open or closed form. The reliable 2,0 litre 4-cilinder engine feels and sounds like new, and the 4-speed gearbox is easy to use. The comfortable seats make you forget that this is actually an almost 50 years old motorcar, and even in the rear is enough space for two adults.

The Baur BMW's have always been proper collectors items, and certainly in this excellent condition and fantastic colour combination a very appealing proposal to any classic BMW enthusiast.
