Description

Unregistered

- Rare body
- Properly preserved
- A good base for restoration
- No reserve

This Berliet has a particularly rare and original body, designed for the taxi business. It is indeed a landaulet coupé-driver, which has at the front a basic driver's cab complete with a folding seat and covered with a simple sheet roof, and at the rear, a compartment separated by a sliding glass and featuring a bench, plus two folding seats. Done up in leatherette, the rear portion is convertible. The front left passenger door has a locking device to hold the door open.
The dashboard is incomplete and the top part of the windshield is missing. The headlamp lenses are broken and one of the two is incomplete; a Kervoline mascot is mounted on the radiator cap. The engine, a 10 HP four-cylinder side-valve unit, is complete.
This car provides an opportunity to acquire an interesting body, of which survivors are particularly rare: most of these low production cars were run to the ground, and the few that survived were transformed into utility vehicles. A good restoration will highlight the interest in this unusual model.
