Der Bentley Continental R-Type ist ein 2-türiges, 4-sitziges Coupe das von 1952 bis 1955 nur 207x gebaut wurde . Es war ein Sondermodell des R-Type und galt als der schnellste 4-sitzer seiner Zeit ! Der R-Type war auch der letzte echte Bentley der sich auch techn. und stilistisch von den RR – Modellen unterschied . Mit dem direkt hiernach eingeführten Bentley S1 gab es zum RR Silver Cloud 1 schon nahezu keinerlei Unterschiede mehr .

Diese Karosserieversion des Continental R-Type gilt in Kennerkreisen als eine der schönsten und aufregendsten Varianten . Dieses Auto ist ein Einzelstück – es wurde vom bek. franz. Karosserier Franay in Paris begonnen ; Franay starb jedoch vor der Fertigstellung und kein geringerer als der Karossier Henry Chapron hat den Wagen dann vollendet ! Dies ist auch das letztgebaute Chassis vom Continental R-Type ! Erstzulassung am 28.05.1955 in Paris . Alle Besitzer bis heute sind bekannt . Dieses Fahrzeug war auch das Austellungsstück auf der Automobilsalon in Paris 1955 ! Rechnungen und Wertgutachten liegen vor.

Description:

The Bentley Continental R-Type is a 2-door, 4-seat coupe that was only built 207 times from 1952 to 1955. It was a special model of the R-Type and was considered the fastest 4-seater of its time! The R-Type was also the last real Bentley that was technically and stylistically different from the RR models. With the Bentley S1 introduced immediately afterwards, there were almost no more differences to the RR Silver Cloud 1.

This body version of the Continental R-Type is considered by connoisseurs to be one of the most beautiful and exciting variants. This car is a one-off - it was made by the well known french  coachbuilder Franay in Paris; Franay died before completion and the very famous coachbuilder Henry Chapron completed the car! This is also the last chassis built from the Continental R-Type! First registration on May 28, 1955 in Paris. All owners until now are known. This vehicle was also an exhibit at the 1955 Paris Motor Show! Invoices and appraisals are available.
