Description

Exactly 40 years have already passed since the Ingolstadt manufacturer presented the 1st european all-wheel drive sports coupe at the Geneva Motor Show in 1980. But let's take a step back in time: the name of the Audi Quattro, a name that was the genesis of the names still used today, signed this type of traction made by Audi, which began in 1977. The intent of the German engineers was to create a sports coupe to participate in the World Rally Championship in Group B. The development of the car took place on a very low budget, which explains different choices such as the adoption of Audi 80 as a starting point, and the experiments carried out by borrowing the drive systems from other cars already in production in Audi.
The engine of the Audi Quattro is a 5-cylinder Turbo, 2.2 liters with 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm that starts to push at higher revs, giving the car the classic "turbo lag" feeling that distinguishes older generation turbos. During the 11'452 units produced, the Quattro underwent various aesthetic and mechanical changes, so the code of the engine fitted is used to better define the different series: WR, MB and RR.

Thanks to a complete and meticulous restoration, carried out following the original specifications, this Quattro is in excellent condition and mechanically functioning perfectly. This version offered numerous improvements over previous versions, such as the futuristic digital dashboard, revised differential and other evolved details compared to before.
