Description
This beautiful Aston Martin Volante, a rare 1981 left hand drive model with the most desirable 5 speed manual gearbox and originally painted in the iconic British racing green was delivered to Texan oil magnate Fred C. Alcorn. Shortly afterwards a Swiss investment specialists bought and imported the Aston into Switzerland. In 1989 he decided to have the V8 converted to the more desirable Vantage specification by Chapman Spooner ltd in Aldridge, UK. Together with a repaint in blue and a new Magnolia leather interior around 90’000 francs were invested. In 2013 the Volante was taken over by the vendor. Towards the end of 2014, during routine maintenance, a corrosion problem in the sills was discovered resulting in a partial restoration of the coachwork by Roos Engineering. Since 2013 records and receipts for maintenance and restoration work for around 90’000 francs are available. Besides the dashing looking Borrani wire wheels with their central nuts and corresponding adapters, a complete set of freshly shod original rims is available. With just about 70’000 kilometres driven and the last MOT stemming from July 2022, the Aston Martin is in good to very good condition and will certainly provide countless happy miles to a proud new owner.
