Description

The DBS Superleggera replaces the venerable second-generation Vanquish that served as the company’s flagship from 2012. Updates over the course of the models life greatly improved the car, increasing power and updating the gearbox to the superb 8-speed ZF unit that finds itself in the DBS Superleggera today.

The Superleggera sits above the DB11 and whilst the cars share some parts, the body is all new but a considerable 70kg lighter. The 5.2 litre twin-turbo V12 powerplant has been considerably reworked, with power leaping to 715bhp and a monstrous 664lb ft available from just 1,800rpm. Aston have very much considered the expectations of a Grand Touring super car and have appropriately paired a thoroughly luxurious interior with and usable mid-range performance.

That said, the DBS Superleggera is no slouch. Whilst the rivalling Ferrari may be a full second faster to 100mph, the DBS could be easily be deemed more usable. In real world use, 30-70mph in fourth gear, from 40-80mph in fifth and from 50-90mph in seventh, the DBS is faster despite its weight disadvantage.

This example was supplied new in June 2019 to its first keeper, who held on to the car before it passed to its current (2nd) owner. Supplied in the Contemporary Black metallic, the paint is unmarked and has been protected with full body satin paint protection film, allowing the metallic flake to shine through. The exterior receives a number of desirable options, including the visible carbon-fibre roof and matching carbon-fibre roof strakes. Both the front splitter and rear diffuser are also the upgraded carbon-fibre items and the side louvres also receive the same upgraded treatment. The forged Y-spoke wheels are finished in satin black and hide the large bronze brake calipers of the carbon-ceramic brakes. Satin black exhaust tips completes the aesthetic look.

The interior is tastefully appointed in Obsidian Black leather with a black carbon-fibre and Alcantara steering wheel. The Obsidian black leather centre console features the 2x2 twill carbon-fibre dashboard insert. The seats receive the embroidered Aston Martin Wings in the headrests and benefit from the upgraded triaxial quilting and seat ventilation. The seats feature ivory welt leather with matching ivory stitching. The DBS is a true 2+2 GT car as this elegant modern specification demonstrates. This example benefits from the hugely desirable Bang & Olufsen Beosound Audio upgrade as well as Aston Martin tracking and in-built garage door opener. It is available to view at our showrooms just outside London immediately.
