In a momentous effort to christen its new Gaydon production plant in 2004, the replacement for the DB7 would be built in the state of the art facility. Named the DB9, it was the successor in a long line of Aston Martin grand tourers. Utilizing the new “VH Platform” and constructed almost entirely from aluminum, the DB9 marked a new chapter in Aston’s history.

Its Volante sibling –the sexy, drop top, cruiser – greeted the DB9 shortly after its launch in 2003. By removing the roof from the already stunning DB9 Coupé, the car became much more evocative. Employing a fabric, automatically retractable top, softer spring rates and anti-roll bars, and strengthened A-pillars, the Volante proved to be a great conversion to convertible form.

This particular DB9 Volante offered by The Cultivated Collector has been spec’d in a very tasteful Tungsten Silver over obsidian black leather with falcon grey stitching. Making this car especially unique is its rare, six speed, manual transmission, allowing the driver to more effectively tap into the smooth V12’s powertrain. With mahogany trim in combination with Aston’s signature matte aluminum finish, the car’s interior looks as posh as the car’s exterior looks. It is also equipped with full climate control, a navigation interface system, satellite radio, grille finished in bright aluminum, and optional 19” 15 spoke alloy wheels. Its understated color combination and special transmission option make this an optimal GT car.

The car spent all of its life in the south and western portions of the United States. Its first owner kept the car in Oklahoma although it was regularly serviced at the closest Aston Martin service center in Dallas, Texas. The vehicle remained in the region throughout the rest of its ownership, and was meticulously cared for by all of its owners. Before TCC took hold of this DB9 Volante, the car was located in the very dry state of Arizona. Quite obviously its owners liked using it to its maximum potential: highway cruising, top down in the sun. The car’s purpose was employed for very short stints since the vehicle was driven an average of 650 miles per year.

TCC’s DB9 Volante is sold service current with a full batch of paperwork and a clean carfax, waiting for its new owner to take it on a real, DB9 style road trip.
