Description

The first prototype of the Aston Martin DB7 was completed in November 1992 and debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the following year. The design of the car was done by by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet. The DB7 was positioned alongside the V8 Virage, introduced a few years earlier.

With the production of the V8 Virage continuing at Newport Pagnell, Aston Martin required a new factory to build the newly introduced DB7. For this a factory was acquired at Bloxham, Oxfordshire, here the famous Jaguar XJ220 had been previously produced. During its production run every DB7 would be built here. The DB7 and its relatives were the only Aston Martins produced in Bloxham.

The convertible version of the DB7, the Volante, was first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 1996. Both the Coupe and the Volante versions use a supercharged straight-six engine producing 335 bhp and 489 Nm of torque. The car was available with a 4-speed automatic transmission, or a 5-speed manual from Getrag.

The car shown here is an original Dutch supplied DB7 Volante with a manual 5-speed and only 73.000 km from new. Delivered new by Cito Motors B.V. in Eindhoven on the 5th of June 1998. The car has always been well maintained and comes with records of service history.

An example of some of the service records of this car:

Serviced on 20-06-2000 at 12.123 km
Serviced on 30-05-2001 at 18.596 km
Serviced on 11-12-2001 at 30.178 km
Serviced on 20-08-2002 at 48.769 km
Serviced on 01-04-2005 at 60.218 km
Serviced on 11-04-2012 at 69.663 km
Serviced on 17-03-2016 at 72.746 km

This DB7 is a rare example, contrary to most DB7’s this car is a LHD European example, with a manual gearbox. Over 90% of the cars produced were delivered with an automatic transmission, and with just 73.000 km this Grand Tourer is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.

According to register keepers only 60 manual DB 7 Volantes were manufactured! Fewer LHD and even fewer European low mileage cars. So an interesting opportunity to be enjoyed!

Dutch registration, well maintained, low mileage and full service history!
