Description

In 1960 the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato was unveiled at the London Motor Show. Clad in a stunningly beautiful and lightweight body by famous Italian coachbuilder Zagato, just 19 examples were produced which remain some of the most valuable and collectable cars in Aston Martin’s history.

The car offered here is an original matching numbers DB4 first registered in November 1962 to Mr H. A. Mitchell in Malta, which has been restored to exact DB4GT Zagato specification by the foremost experts in the industry.

The restoration was started in 2010 and overseen by marque experts Spray-tec who finished the car in Black Pearl metallic. Bodylines were entrusted with the bodywork, which was stripped to the bare chassis with a new lightweight aluminium body built to original Zagato specification, sitting on a shortened DB4GT spec chassis. R.S. Williams rebuilt the engine to 4.7 litre displacement using a correct 12 plug GT cylinder head and twin distributers.

The entire restoration process took over four years and has been fully documented with extensive photography and associated invoices, a folder of which accompanies the car.

With just 3,055 miles on the odometer since the project was completed, this is a truly stunning example of one of the most revered Aston Martin’s of our time and almost indistinguishable from an original DB4GT Zagato.
