Description

Aston Martin took the sporting automotive public by storm with the first new car under David Brown’s watchful eye – the DB2. Debuted at the New York International Auto Show in 1950, this potent sports car was an instant success with only 411 examples built throughout the model’s production run.

Ordered new through Wacky Arnolt’s famous dealership in Chicago, LML/50/331 was delivered on June 11, 1953, to its first owner, Joseph Marjob Esq. of Skokie, Illinois. Mr. Marjob selected the striking color combination of Moonbeam Grey paired with blue interior and gray piping. Bound for the US, this DB2 was also specified in left-hand drive with Smiths instruments and Dunlop tires.

Little is known of the DB2’s history until its recent discovery in a collector’s garage in Wisconsin. Currently presented in metallic green with a black interior, and highlighted by whitewall tires and a unique rear window treatment, this lovely, sporting Aston Martin shows just over 51,100 miles on the odometer and retains its matching-numbers engine per the accompanying Aston Martin build sheet.

A truly rare opportunity, this unrestored Aston Martin, in garage-find condition, is a wonderful candidate for a comprehensive restoration back to its striking factory livery.

*Please note that this vehicle has been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. It will require mechanical attention prior to road use.
