Description

The Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce Coupe was based on a shortened Giulia (105) saloon platform. Penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, the Giulia's clean and distinctive design is considered to be one of the most attractive small coupes of the 1960s and 70s. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production, making it a forerunner to todays performance Coupe’s. Powered by Alfa Romeo’s twin cam, all-aluminium, four cylinder 1932cc engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox producing an impressive 132 bhp. This punchy power plant ensured the cars performance was better than many sports cars of the era.

According to the production register held in the Centro Documentazione Museo Alfa Romeo, the chassis number AR2442304 originally corresponds to Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce LHD.
Production date June 1975.

Previously owned by the same family since 1975 who commissioned a light body restoration around the year 2000.

Presented in period Luci di Bosco 524, it's original color, the vehicle has now been subject to a full body and mechanical nut and bolt restoration through 2017-18. The interior has been retrimmed in brown leather.

Works include, shell stripped, media blasted and placed on a body jig for new panels including doors and boot lid.

The underside has been given a quality underseal and painted body colour this combined with all mechanical parts being either replaced or refurbished makes the underside a real show piece.
Mechanically both engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by reputable specialist.

On the outside all chrome has been replaced or refinished, stainless steel bumpers polished to give the car real shine.
On the inside the interior has been fully retrimmed in brown leather, new door cards, carpets and headlining accordingly to original patterns.

All costs are documented and available to consultation.

In summary this 2000 GTV has to be one of the best examples available, it has been built with a real passion for detail not often seen, which results in the car being a real show piece and would suit a collector who appreciates this level of restoration looking to take advantage of rising prices.

A perfect opportunity to own one of the prettiest 70s Coupe’s, which will certainly appreciate further over time.
