Description

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .This very rare ‘Alfetta II SL’ prefix 116.58C was built on the Alfetta 2.0 base in 1982 and is the same English grade, for positioning in the range, as our Quadrifoglio Oro.

The distinguishing mark is the two-tone bodywork with the lower part always in light metallic grey; for the upper part the most common colour was dark brown (this is the colour of the example shown in the official catalogue). The bodywork was prepared by the Star Custom Vehicles coachbuilder in Ampthill, which fitted the striking rear spoiler, the front dam with a sticker bearing the words ‘Alfetta SL’ and painted the lower part in metallic grey, regardless of the original colour.

Sunroof was an option on request, as in this unit.

The front panel had 4 headlights and black grille, just like the Li America as well as Campagnolo 6x14 alloy rims.

It seems that only a few dozens were built and it is very difficult to find one that is so well preserved.

It was imported a few years ago by an Alfa Romeo collector passionate about rare versions, and it has remained in a private collection.

It has received a recent exterior paint job in the original colours, the interior is completely original and in excellent condition.

Mechanical-wise, the car starts immediately and can be driven, however the MOT has expired and it is a direct purchase from the previous owner, therefore some routine maintenance may be needed.

Tyres are new. The odometer reading is only 84,000 miles, around 135,000 km.

This is a unique opportunity for a true collector to acquire an extremely rare top-of-the-range version of this 2000cc series.

The feeler gauge test showed no major incidents (as shown in photos).

Car with original English registration certificate, imported pre-Brexit and not subject to import VAT (free movement).

Ruote Classiche also spoke about this rare version (please see article).
