Since then the whole history has been kept up to date by previous owners. There is a file full of documentation and an extensive photo book of the restoration. Everything points to a well executed restoration. This was a complete body-off restoration. Every part was inspected and decided upon if it could be reused, if needed new replacement parts were obtained from specialist suppliers like Alfaholics and Classic Alfa. The quality of the resulting bodywork is outstanding. The fine body panels are perfectly aligned. The chassis is of course completely rust-free and in perfect condition. The carpets have been replaced and we believe that the leather trim is original and has been neatly maintained over the years. Mechanically this Alfa is as sound as a house. The mechanical overhaul has resulted in affording this Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV an excellent bill of health. According to the rolling-road rapport the 4-cylinder 2.0 litre engine pulls 207 Nm at 4,500 revs and 142 Hp at 5,500 revs. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Weighing in at just 1,028 kg it has a very good power to weight ratio, making the car a pure joy to drive. Just walking towards the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV already makes you feel special. The feeling is only enhanced when you take place behind the wheel and turn the ignition key. Relaxed touring in this car is quite a pleasant sensation.
