Description
"There are many ways to introduce an Alfa Romeo Spider, oblique references to the academy award-winning film, The Graduate with Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft, it’s superb engine, its roots tracing back to 1910 and in continuous production, in one form or another, since then. Encompassing a significant element of the worlds motor racing history from the Mille Miglia to modern Touring Cars, possibly the most famous of all its incarnations however is the Spider, quite simply one of the sexiest cars ever built.
The series two car had many improvements from its predecessor including such upgrades as, a new drag reducing Kamm tail, bigger brakes and a limited slip differential. Available were four engine options, all twin cams; the 1.3, 1.6, 1.8 and, as offered here, the top of the range 102bhp, 2.0 litre model. Delivered new to Jersey in 1972, this car was first registered here in the UK in August 1976. Since then, it has been well cared for and underwent a major restoration in 2001, pictures of which can be found within the history file. The car has had whatever it required and has more recently benefitted from a full professional respray in 2018 at a cost of £3,000. As a result, this Spider presents incredibly well and, we are informed, drives as well as it looks. The car comes with a substantial history file containing receipts and MoT test certificates going back to the 1970’s. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate together with the substantial history file and manuals, this beautiful little Alfa is ready to impress."
