Description

Chassis No. JH4NA21655S000085

At the peak of their Formula One domination, fabled engine builders Honda gained the confidence to design and build a true sports car, one able to compete with the world's best; an unprecedented feat for their company. In a time of increasingly powerful, yet impractical exotic supercars, Honda believed they could deliver something sporty, without sacrificing the practicality of a normal car. When the cover was removed and the first testing reviews submitted, it was clear that they had achieved their vision. Featuring a revolutionary all-aluminum body designed by Pininfarina that provided excellent chassis rigidity and weight savings, the NSX notably received input from Formula One legend Ayrton Senna himself. In fact so revered was this car within Honda it was stipulated that only the most experienced technicians had the privilege of building the new flagship model.

While the NSX has long been revered for its incredible handling, enthusiasts are always looking to go faster, which is where IMSA racing partners Comptech became involved, adding considerable performance improvements without sacrificing factory reliability. Comptech's specially designed NSX supercharger kit boasted power gains of approximately 70 wheel horsepower over the standard model. The kit utilized a twin screw type supercharger and was offered and installed by dealers to ensure Honda's famous reliability - and factory warranty - was upheld.

For the final year of production, this Berlina Black NSX was equipped by the dealer with the upgraded Comptech supercharger. The NSX is a true driver's car that allows the pilot to be in complete control working in harmony with the six-speed manual transmission. Also sporting a lightweight aluminum roof, that is easily removable for occupants to enjoy the open air. Offered with remarkably low mileage, this well preserved example shows just 5,783 miles at the time of cataloging and is accompanied by a trunk mounted toolkit, manuals and history file. With Acura continuing to push the envelope with the modern NSX, it is easy to see why these low mileage, manual transmission examples remain popular with collectors.
