The 750 America was supposed to invade America. During the press conference of the launch of the bike, on January 21 in Milan, Luigi Ghisleri (the CEO) announced, that "For 1975, the production target is 4,000-4,500." Alas, these numbers proved to be too optimistic, and today the total number of 750 America produced over two years is estimated at 540 units, as well as the 750 Sport over six years. Apart from the condition and finish, the bike was not fundamentally different from the 750 Sport. It is powered by the famous four-cylinder double overhead cam engine which was the engine that dominated motorcycle racing in the world those days. For the 750 America, the engine was bored out to 790cc and 75bhp at 8500rpm, giving this superb machine a top speed in excess of 190 km/h or 200 km/h with the fairing. For braking, the bike received double Scarab front discs and rear drums, with Ceriani forks that were bigger than the 750 Sport.
The MV Agusta America that we are presenting belongs to the same collector since 2002 and has never been restored. It is in a state of unusual origin, with its Lafranconi exhaust and spoked wheels. This noble machine comes with a "mini -bike " from 1974, that holds a certificate Registro Storico MV, No. 0383. As highlighted herein, this superb little machine is also in a good original condition and is powered by a single cylinder 50cc engine, imitating the style of its big sister's four cylinders with the shape of the tank, the saddle and the four pot exhaust bend upwards. The production of this little bike did not exceed 200 units: it was reserved for distributors and loyal customers.
This unique set includes two machines of great rarity, the larger of which has a refined technology, great aesthetic and is a beautiful touring machines much admired by collectors.
