The Delage brand name was founded in 1905 by Louis Delage in Levallois Perret, about 150 km from Paris. For about half a century, it was dedicated to the production of luxury and racing cars, aeroplanes and, for very limited numbers, motorbikes that were produced in the Clichy factory and marketed under the Claude Delage name. These were motor bicycles equipped with 4-stroke engines with various displacements but with a strong orientation towards the 175 cc cubature which, given the times and the absolute necessity of having reliable motor units with acceptable fuel consumption, was considered the best compromise of all these elements. The motorbike on offer at auction is an extremely rare 175 cc racing bike, equipped with a brand new engine and a 2-stroke cycle and side carburettor, skilfully restored in recent times and in perfect working order. An extremely rare example from this famous French car manufacturer, with innovative technical and engine solutions – a motorbike for true connoisseurs._x000D_
Restored and presumably never used since. Recommended a general mechanical check before use.
