Description

For many motorcycle enthusiasts, the Ariel brand is linked to the innovative Ariel Square Four 500 cc from 1931 designed by the British Edward Turner, who later moved to BSA. The name Ariel takes its cue from the ethereal spirit of Shakespeare's play “The Tempest”, to underline its main prerogative: lightness.
During the Second World War Ariel also made bicycles for the British army and was subsequently purchased by BSA.
