This is the winner’s breakfast at the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este

Come Monday morning, one lucky car collector can look forward to this sight at the breakfast table – a much deserved espresso, to get back into shape following the victory celebrations, and the 2018 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este winner’s watch by A. Lange & Söhne…

The battle for ‘Best of Show’ is shaping up rather interestingly this year. Albert Spiess’s Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale is certainly a favourite, but it has already won the audience-voted Coppa d’Oro award. Could it be an impressive racing car such as the Ferrari 335 Sport owned by Andreas Mohringer? Or is the jury more likely to opt for a classic pre-War beauty such as the Pinin Farina-bodied Lancia Astura Series III? We’ll know more on Sunday evening.
