Unique Tudor Heritage Black Bay One heading to auction

A new unique piece by Tudor, the Heritage Black Bay One will be offered by Phillips (in association with Bacs & Russo) at its Only Watch charity auction in November...

One of a kind

Unlike the regular Heritage Black Bay, which takes inspiration from a number of watches from Tudor’s back catalogue, the one-off Heritage Black Bay One faithfully reinterprets the 1950s reference 7923, the Swiss watchmaker’s only ever hand-wound diver. Gone are the distinctive snowflake hands and coloured bezel, replaced with elegant gold baton hands and a traditional gloss-black bezel. There are two lines of text, with the depth-rating printed in red (another feature unique to this watch), and the lugs/case are chamfered, just like the original’s. It’s an interesting move by Tudor, perhaps in an attempt to gauge the watch’s reception before a full release next year? If you can't wait that long, the Heritage Black Bay One, reference 7923/001, will cross the block on 7 November 2015 in Geneva, at Phillips’ Only Watch sale, held in association with Bacs & Russo, from which all proceeds will go to charity.
