It’s not just the Swiss who make fascinating watches, you know?

Once considered a material reserved for only the most exotic of automobiles, carbon fibre is slowly creeping more and more into our everyday lives. This rugged new chronograph from German watchmaker Union Glashütte uses the lightweight composite for both style and durability…

Made in Germany

Thanks to its carbon-fibre bezel, screwed rubber flanks, domed sapphire crystal, and robust strap choices, the Belisar Chronograph Sport from German watchmaker Union Glashütte looks properly tough, yet also dynamic and sporty at the same time. Priced at 2,950 euros and equipped with Union Glashütte’s latest automatic chronograph movement, boasting 60 hours of power reserve, the Belisar is delivered with three straps: a vintage-style calfskin strap, a black rubber carbon-fibre band, and a textile fabric strap.
