BMW will produce a limited-edition version of the M3 coupé. Titled ‘Edition Model’, the new variant will be available for just six months, from July 2009 onwards.
The changes are cosmetic and vary from colour to colour. Customers can choose from Alpine White, Black and Dakar Yellow ‘flat’ paintwork or Monte Carlo Blue metallic. All versions have BMW Individual High-Gloss Satin Chrome trim, while each exterior shade has its own interior finish and contrasting bodywork highlights.
The surfaces on the centre armrest, the centre console and the armrests on the door panels are finished in white on the Alpine White and Black models, for example. All cars feature interior trim in Carbon Structure Leather (with white contrasting seams) and seats in Black Novillo Leather, also with contrast stitching and stripes – white for the black and white cars, and colour-coded for the blue and yellow.
All four Edition Models come with specially designed 19-inch, forged M light-alloy wheels, and the car is lower (by 10mm, or 0.4in) than standard.
