- BootstypSport Cruiser
Hull no. 44
- Rare boat (1 of only 37)
- Exclusive, powerful and luxurious
- Superbly preserved condition, original engines
- No reserve
The Riva 32 Ferrari resulted from an agreement between Riva and Ferrari Engineering, signed in the summer of 1988 with the goal of producing a powerboat offering elegant styling, high performance and luxury fittings. It would draw on both companies' experience, each of them at the top in their respective fields.
The visual signature of this exceptional boat is provided by the black carbon fibre spoiler above its sleek hull. Inside, the body-hugging front seats have removable squabs making it possible to pilot the boat standing up. Each seat has a folding drink holder and side lockers with good storage capacity. Facing the pilot is an attractive dashboard with a full set of Riva/VDO instruments.
Towards the stern, the bench seat offers comfortable space for three, while under the bridge there is a cabin fitted out with two berths, storage space, an upper hatch and a marine toilet system. On the aft deck, a hydraulically operated ladder can be let down to reveal a fresh-water shower unit. The twin engines are mounted below the sun deck. In 1991, this very exclusive powerboat sold new for $396,000.
The example which we are offering, hull no. 44, is the 36th of 37 built. It is one of the last produced: from 1993 to 1995, only nine examples were built, with mechanical and cosmetic improvements compared with the previous versions, such as an extended platform and a longer propshaft. It is equipped with two BPM 450 SC Vulcano V8 engines to the latest specification, each producing 410 bhp, allowing it to reach a top speed of 54 knots (62 mph) and a cruising speed of 41 knots (47 mph). Specially finished in 'Giallo Modena' with a white interior, the boat was originally used for promotional purposes and remained at Riva's shipyard at Sarnico until May 1998, when it was bought by Mr. P..
In superb condition, this Riva 32 still has its original engines and comes with its original keys, owner's manuals and original tools, as well as an extensive set of documents including title documents, Riva drawings and period photographs. A wooden Riva cradle is also part of the package.
Magnificently preserved and maintained, having been used only in fresh water, this impressive Riva 32 Ferrari is an exceptional item for any lover of rare, powerful and exclusive powerboats.
The Riva 32 Ferrari will be on display at Rétromobile show, on Artcurial stand at the same days and times as the classic cars.
