Sometimes a watch design comes to life in response to a challenge. So when the Royal Italian Navy turned to Panerai in 1936 for a reliable, water-resistant watch, the result was the Radiomir. This successful combination of pure Italian styling and intricate Swiss watchmaking led to several special watch models being developed at the request of other Mediterranean navies. One of the most recognizable was the ‘Egiziano'.
Characterized by its exceptional size and strength, this instrument was perfect for the largest Navy in the Middle East due to its great water resistance, legibility and marked bezel for calculating immersion time.
This contemporary re-issue of 2009, showcases vividly the story of Officine Panerai, a brand that looks forward to the future while always remaining true to its past.
