QUARTER-REPEATER PINK GOLD
Swiss, No. 49312. Made circa 1885.
Very fine, keyless, quarter-repeating, 14K pink gold,
hunting cased pocket watch.
Four-body, "bassine", solid, polished. Hinged gold cuvette
with engraved dedication.
White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track
with red Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds.
Gold Louis XV hands.
Matte gilt, counterpoised straight line calibrated lever escapement,
cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet
balance-spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by
a slide on the band.
