The stylised case with shaped handle and scalloped pagoda top supported on bamboo style pillars to a stepped base with running decoration, the porcelain dial, the gilt Roman chapter ring with minute track and blued steel moon hands, decorated with four multi-coloured birds within gilt branches, the two side panels similarly decorated, the large movement with substantial silvered lever platform escapement and large bimetallic balance, striking the hours and half-hours on a coiled blued steel gong 26cm (10.25in)
