Beschreibung

"This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY
Delivered new on 13th May 1964 to a Mr Alfred Twentyman of Wolverhampton, this very well presented, matching numbers example is offered in excellent condition. The build sheet confirms that the DB5 left the factory equipped with optional extras including a 3.77 limited slip differential and two Britax safety belts.
Acquired by its late owner, Mr Hayes, in May 1984, the Aston has been continuously maintained by marque specialists regardless of cost. An overhaul was completed in 1990 which included an engine rebuild, chassis restoration and a refinish to the paintwork. In 1994 Mr Hayes moved to Perth, Australia and subsequently exported the DB5, continuing to use the car regularly.
Repatriated to the UK in June 2012 the DB5 was treated to its second and major restoration. The body and chassis were restored by Bodylines Ltd and a bare metal respray undertaken by Spray Tec Restorations to the elegant Glacier Blue it wears today. The work also included a suspension upgrade, coil over springs and shock absorbers were fitted to the rear and adjustable Koni suspension at the front. The brakes and servos were also rebuilt, the interior restored and the engine fully detailed with replating of all carburettor linkages. The engine was also professionally rebuilt to 4.2 litres by JMB Services and the gearbox and back axle restored by BPA Engineering Ltd. All four restoration companies (Bodylines Ltd, Spray Tec Restorations, JMB Services and BPA Engineering Ltd) are widely known to be the holy grail of Aston Martin restorers, producing the highest quality restorations. This example is no exception.
Offered in the elegant colour combination of Glacier Blue over a dark blue leather interior, this extremely well-presented example has only covered circa 22,000 miles since the meticulous restoration. The paintwork and body are in very good condition as is the interior which presents wonderfully. A concealed Kenwood multimedia navigation system has also been fitted for modern day driving.
The sizeable history file that accompanies the car includes many bills and receipts dating back to 1972 with both restorations documented, photographed and detailed. Also included in the file is a copy of the original Aston Martin build sheet confirming that the car was originally delivered in the striking colour combination of Black Pearl over red Connolly hide interior.
Offered to the open market from 36 years of single family ownership this extensively restored and much loved Aston Martin is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
