Beschreibung

"Riley’s four seat 1,496cc RMA saloon was introduced in 1945 and for the post-war public, it must have been a revelation, both in styling and the quality of the detailing. Riley were known for quality and the interior particularly was given special attention. The RMA’s twin camshaft engine was capable of 75mph which when combined with rack and pinion steering and armchair comfort, the driver received an excellent all round experience.
This lovely example is presented in cream/black with a black vinyl roof. One of the earlier RMAs, manufactured in 1946 and featuring the desirable round instruments. This matching numbers, original car was the subject of a five year ground-up restoration in the late 1990s, for which there is a photographic record and the car began 2001 with 32 miles on the clock. The continuous MoTs then saw the mileage rise to 7125 miles in 2012. The engine has been rebuilt and the interior retrimmed, including the boot. This was one of 40 Riley RMs to be exported to Ireland as CKD cars in 1946, i.e. supplied in kit form and then assembled by G. A. Brittain of Dublin. There is even a shamrock etched into the glass and fortunately the car still retains its original ZD registration number. The car was bought by the present owner in 2014 and the odometer now reads 7835 miles. In very good all round condition, this car is ready to drive, show and enjoy. "
