"Mercedes-Benz have been producing an SL model or range of models since 1954. The fourth incarnation of this impressive history was introduced in 1989 and was given the factory code of R129. It was offered with a hardtop and was the first Mercedes-Benz model to have a hydraulically operated folding roof at the touch of a button. It was also the first convertible to be fitted with automatic roll-bar deployment in the event of a rollover.
Registered new on 28th January 1993 this lovely example was delivered new to Sir Terry Wogan’s wife which is shown in the service booklet. Presented in very good condition throughout the vendor reports that it drives superbly. More recently the Mercedes has been treated to circa £3,000 of general maintenance. Offered with a sizeable history file included previous MoT records, recent invoices from Mercedes-Benz, the original service booklet with 11 stamps, and the current UK registration document, also included with the car is its original hardtop.
