"Mercedes-Benz has been producing an SL (Sport Leicht) model or range of models since 1954 when the landmark 300 SL was unveiled. The similarly styled, but mechanically unrelated, 190 followed in 1955, completing the first generation of cars. Their successor was the W113 series SL which proved to be more comfortable than the former and faster than the latter. The 250 SL is the rarest of all the SL's as they were only made for one year, of these, very few were fitted with a manual gearbox. The 250 SL also had a far superior seven main bearing engine as opposed to four in the 230 SL and also benefited from rear disc brakes and stiffer suspension.
This fabulous Mercedes-Benz has had significant sums of money spent on it in recent times and as such presents in beautiful condition. The light blue coachwork is in good order as is the navy blue leather interior. The engine was rebuilt by Crewe Engines Ltd in 2021, the steering pump and fuel injection system were also rebuilt again in 2021. In 2016 the car had a bare metal repaint, there are invoices in the significant history folder totalling more than £31,000. Still in left hand drive guise and fitted with automatic transmission, we are advised this 250 SL Pagoda drives with no known faults.
