The reasons for the similarities are simple, this CJ-5 is based on the military Willys M38A1, and as off-roading and outdoors adventure increased in popularity throughout the 1970s and 1980s, demand spiked for a go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle. Built for three decades (1954–1983), this CJ-5 was, as per consignor, the recipient of a recent restoration, creating this 'tribute' Golden Eagle in Brown and Gold, based on a rust-free Jeep. In very good condition inside and out, it features both a brown bikini top and a factory metal hard top.
