Certains disent qu'elle ressemble à une petite Aston Martin et ils n'ont pas tout à fait tort! Très élégante, la MG B GT est la version coupé produite à partir de 1965 du célèbre roadster britannique présenté en 1962. Confortable, fiable et peu couteuse en entretien, elle fut un véritable succès commercial à travers le monde pour atteindre pas moins de 143 000 exemplaires. Si la ligne moderne de son pavillon arrière est initiée par le célèbre designer italien Pininfarina, la British Motor Corporation utilise des procédés simples qui ont déjà fait leurs preuves par le passé: caisse autoporteuse, 4 cylindres de 1800 cm3 développant 95 cv et boite 4 vitesses avec overdrive optionnel
La MG B ici présentée est une version GT à carrosserie donc coupé équipé d’un coffre à hayon. Celle-ci fut mise en circulation en juin 1972 en Belgique, pays où elle séjourne jusqu’en 2008. Ensuite elle est importée en France et servira pendant de nombreuses années à un couple de passionné d’auto qui s’en sert très régulièrement pour divers rallyes. Elle sera alors toujours entretenue et fiabilisée au fur et à mesure des années. Aujourd’hui celle-ci se présente à nous dans un bon état d’origine, avec une carrosserie dans un beau jus et surtout une structure très saine. La couleur Bronze Yellow est encore d’un bel éclat bien que présumée d’origine et la sellerie est en bel état hormis un accroc au siège conducteur. C’est ici une occasion d’acquérir une sympathique anglaise encore abordable dans une configuration originale et en conduite à gauche !

Some say it looks like a little Aston Martin and they are not entirely wrong! Very elegant, the MG B GT is the coupé version produced from 1965 onwards of the famous British roadster presented in 1962. Comfortable, reliable and inexpensive to maintain, it was a real commercial success throughout the world, selling no less than 143,000 units. While the modern rear roof design was initiated by the famous Italian designer Pininfarina, the British Motor Corporation used simple procedures that had already proved their worth in the past: a self-supporting body, a 4-cylinder engine of 1800 cm3 developing 95 hp and a 4-speed gearbox with an optional overdrive
The MG B presented here is a GT version with a coupé body and a hatchback. It was launched in June 1972 in Belgium, where it remained until 2008. It was then imported into France and was used for many years by a couple of car enthusiasts who regularly used it for various rallies. It was always maintained and made more reliable over the years. Today, this car is in a good original condition, with a nice bodywork and a very sound structure. The Bronze Yellow colour is still in good shape, even though it is presumed to be original, and the upholstery is in good condition, except for a tear on the driver's seat. This is an opportunity to acquire a nice and affordable English car in an original configuration and in left hand drive.
