In 2015, when Honda announced the marketing of a bike similar to the machine raced by Marc Marquez in MotoGP that could be ridden on the road, it sent a wave of excitement through the community of enthusiasts for exceptional machines. Comparing the technical specifications of both bikes sustained the buzz: more than 238 bhp, a dry weight of
158 kg and a stratospheric price tag for the ultimate HRC machine against 215 bhp at 13,000 rpm, a dry weight of 160 kg and a price of 201,000 € (with the full Sport kit) for the "street legal" version of the RC213! Its 999cc V4 90° engine with a geartrain using a coil spring system in place of the overly complicated pneumatic system.
The machine is equipped with a cassette-type gearbox with shifter and dry slipper clutch. With such a pedigree, the chassis is highly sophisticated (special steering column adjustment system, titanium nuts and bolts, etc) and was fitted with the very best suspension (Öhlins TTX25 front and TTX 36 rear), brakes (Brembo brakes and stainless steel discs identical to the MotoGP models used in the wet) and wheels (magnesium parts).
Acquired from Honda France by an astute dealer, this example, which bears n°112, has never been ridden and comes with the Sport kit still in its case. Here is a rare opportunity to buy a Honda that is already legendary, of which just 150 examples were built.
