Strength and distinctiveness of all the Ferraris, the change of type F1 evolves on the 599 GTB Fiorano adding an additional strategy of operation, the fast changing F1-SuperFast. This evokes in the name the two key concepts: the derivation from the racing world and the speed of implementation of the change, representing one of the most innovative and exclusive technical contents present in the world premiere on a car for road use.

In traditional robotic gearboxes, gearshifting operations are all carried out in series with each other with the succession of the following phases: cutting of torque and disengagement of the clutch, disengagement, selection and engagement of the gear; clutch engagement and torque return. The engine is a V-cylinder of 65 ° of 5999 cm3 of displacement, with a specific power of 103 hp / liter. It derives its basic architecture directly from that of the Enzo Ferrari, already applied to the FXX track car, of which the base, cylinder heads, the cup and the geometry of the combustion chamber have been retained.

The design of the new components and sub-groups was directed to the achievement of high revolutions, to a significant reduction and optimization of the mass distribution and to the reduction of dimensions, allowing to meet the desired objectives: performance, central front position, respect for new emission limits, lower consumption.

Punto di forza e di distintività di tutte le Ferrari, il cambio di tipo F1 si evolve sulla 599 GTB Fiorano aggiungendo un’ulteriore strategia di funzionamento, la cambiata veloce F1-SuperFast. Questa evoca nel nome i due concetti chiave: la derivazione dal mondo delle corse e la velocità di attuazione della cambiata, rappresentando uno dei contenuti di maggiore innovazione ed esclusività tecnica presente in anteprima mondiale su una vettura per uso stradale.

Nei tradizionali cambi robotizzati le operazioni di cambiata avvengono tutte in serie tra di loro con la successione delle seguenti fasi: taglio di coppia e disinnesto della frizione;disinnesto, selezione e innesto della marcia; innesto frizione e restituzione di coppia. Il motore è un 12 cilindri a V di 65° di 5999 cm3 di cilindrata, forte di una potenza specifica di 103 CV/litro. Esso deriva la sua architettura di base direttamente da quello della Enzo Ferrari, già applicato anche sulla vettura da pista FXX, di cui sono stati mantenuti il basamento, le teste cilindri, la coppa e la geometria della camera di scoppio.

La progettazione dei nuovi componenti e sottogruppi è stata indirizzata al raggiungimento di elevati regimi di rotazione, a una sensibile riduzione e ottimizzazione della distribuzione delle masse e alla riduzione degli ingombri, consentendo di soddisfare gli obiettivi voluti: prestazioni, posizione anteriore centrale, rispetto dei nuovi limiti emissione, minori consumi.
