This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Beautiful, original and very rare Riley RME 1½ L Saloon from 1954 in patina condition.

This Riley was registered in the Netherlands in 1990 and is extensively documented, including the original manual, a service parts list and other documentation, photos, etc. In the colour scheme grey/green and with the well-known ‘wheel spats’ at the rear.
It also comes with a magazine dated August 1991 which contains a story about the car’s owner who restored the Riley at the time.

The RME was built/produced from 1952 to 1955, whilst this version was only made in 1954. The body was different from the original model; the footboards were gone, whilst the front and rear mudguards were newly designed. There were only eight restored RMEs of this type in the Netherlands back in 1991. In terms of looks, the RME has the character traits of a Rolls Royce. The owner at the time called the car the common man’s Rolls Royce. The RME is a decent car and nicely finished for that time, the burl wood dashboard and beige leather interior are in a neat patina condition. The engine was overhauled at the time and the Riley has been kept in dry storage over the years. Registered with the Riley Club Holland since the 1990s.

In short, a rare and unique Riley RME 1½ L for many more years of driving fun.

The Riley has naturally sustained signs of wear and age over the years given its age and there are some minor cracks in the paint, please see photos.

You are more than welcome to view this car in our showroom and to take it for a test drive before you place a bid.

The car can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.
