Beschreibung
BMW assault on the Mercedes Benz SL and Porche’s 928 resulted in the birth of the 8-series. To beat the competition only the best was good enough. That resulted in a 8 series which was only available as a 5 liter V12 powerplant and for a first mated to a 6-speed manual transmission on a road car and one of the first vehicles fitted with an electronic drive-by-wire throttle.
At launch the 850 was one of the most advanced cars on the market, not that unusual given the fact that over 1 billion Deutsche Mark was spent on development. During its lifespan only 30000 cars were produced as sales were affected by the global recession and energy price spikes during the 90’s.
The 850i offered on sale by Rock and Roll-Classics is one of only 57 cars that left the factory in the gorgeous Nautic green. Combined with black leather trim and discrete Alpina Alloys does give this 850i the presence of a 90’s modern classic. This car still bears its original paint. Comes with a fully stamped BMW service booklet and plenty of service invoices. Delivered new to a Belgian customer in 1991 this much appreciated upcoming classic will undoubtedly be a steady investment and can even be used as a daily driver.
