The simple but stunning Duetto design was the last one supervised by founder Battista PininFarina at his design studio in 1966. A couple of months later he sadly passed away.
When admiring the lines of the early Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto, commonly named “Osso di Sepia”, one wonders why on earth the later Spider models had their tail cut (“Coda Tronca”)…

This 1968 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto, a 1300 Junior model is in fact the direct evolution of the sweet Giulietta Spider. Sold new in Belgium, this Spider Duetto comes in the stunning original colour combination of Pino Verde with black upholstery, and had only one-owner-from-new from 1968 until 2008! 40 years in a row!

The first lady owner assembled over the years an impressive service and maintenance file.
The low Kms covered during all these years (just over 100.000 Km) are convincingly proven in the service booklets.
Evenso charming are the original Alfa Romeo Spider handbook, original Blaupunkt radio invoice and handbook, and the inevitable invoices from Alfa Romeo garages in the Brussels neighbourhood.

Because of the purity and authenticity of this Alfa Romeo, I have kept this Spider Duetto in my own classic car collection during the last years. But I realise I don’t pay this Alfa Romeo justice by only occasionally taking her out…
