Beschreibung

In 1963, Chevrolet introduced an all-new Corvette. The fresh, modern design was based on two radical GM concept cars: Zora Arkus-Duntov’s 1957 Q-Corvette and Bill Mitchell’s 1959 Sting Ray designed by Peter Brock. This handsome example, first of the legendary 1963–1967 “Mid-Year” Corvettes, features the iconic, one-year-only, rear split-window design and is the first Corvette to have hidden headlights, a feature that would become a hallmark of Corvette styling for decades. An all-new chassis design with independent rear suspension helped make the 1963 Corvette perform as good as it looks.

This Daytona Blue Corvette is factory-equipped with the desirable L76, 340 bhp, solid-lifer 327 V-8 and the venerable Borg Warner T-10 four-speed manual gearbox. Many Corvette enthusiasts consider this factory-optioned drivetrain package to be optimal for driveability and reliability. This Corvette is also optioned with AM/FM radio, power windows, and leather seats. Additionally, it is fitted with a set of attractive and practical redline radial tires mounted on Corvette knock-off wheels, adding to its performance prowess and stance.

Carefully maintained and driven regularly, the car is stated by the consignor to be properly sorted and to start easily hot or cold. The combination of iconic styling, impressive performance, driveability, and famous Chevrolet reliability make this Corvette ideally suited for touring or spirited driving on country roads.
