A thrilling find as one of just 935 produced, this 1971 Porsche 911 E Targa is an original Canadian-market car, finished in Albert Blue over black leatherette and optioned with an electric heater, front/rear stabilizers, Vorderachse shocks, rear-bumper apron, and an antenna and loudspeaker plus noise suppression. Purchased new in Montreal and retained by the original owner from nearby Westmount until January 2016, this Porsche’s history and documentation is voluminous, including the original purchase order and sales receipt, a diary recording every mile and service performed, and an extensive file of service receipts and maintenance history.

As offered, the Porsche benefits from a recent major service with records on file from Road Scholars, of Durham, North Carolina. Paint-meter readings and scrutiny by Porsche technicians and a concours judge support the consignor’s belief that the Porsche retains its original, factory-applied paint finish. Factory inspection markings are found all around, including hand-painted strokes on the inner door borders and underhood stamps. Even the original Cosmoline is present throughout the car; so is the period-applied Dura-Coat rustproofing, as documented in the file.
