Beschreibung
The Porsche 912, with its lightweight four-cylinder power plant, bridged the gap between the outgoing four-cylinder 356 and the six-cylinder 911. The majority of 912 coupes were built by Karmann, an Osnabrück, Germany-based coachbuilder originally known for its convertibles. A gorgeous restoration and desirable original color combination distinguish this stunning 912.
Completed on February 14, 1967, chassis 461628 was well-optioned from the factory, with bumper horns front and rear, a tinted windshield, ventilated chrome wheels, a wood steering wheel, loudspeaker, antenna, Blaupunkt “Frankfurt” radio, wheel caps with colored crest, and 165/15 Semperit tires. The consignor states that after acquisition by Porsche specialist Loren Beggs of 911 Design in Montclair, California, a full rotisserie restoration was carried out in his workshop in 2008, with an interior by Autos International. Post-restoration, the Porsche has been enjoyed, having covered about 8,000 miles. The car is accompanied by a tool kit, manuals, and spare wheel and tire.
Spectacular in its original color of Bahama Yellow and fitted with a period roof rack, this 912 is downright cheerful; it exemplifies the joy of driving a simple, lightweight sports car. Documented by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this represents an exciting opportunity to acquire an outstanding 912.
