HISTORICAL NOTES by Promotor Classic
The Porsche 356 B Cabriolet Super 90 is one of the most captivating expressions of Porsche’s sporting heritage, combining the character of the Super 90 with the elegance of the Cabriolet body style.
Introduced in 1959 as an evolution of the 356 A, the Porsche 356 B carried the Stuttgart marque into the early 1960s, refining a formula that would become a benchmark among sports cars: clean lines, compact dimensions and a distinctive personality.
From September 1961, the introduction of the T6 body brought further updates, recognisable by the wider front luggage compartment lid, the external fuel filler flap on the right front wing and the twin grilles on the engine lid.
Within the range, the Super 90 offered a more sporting character while retaining the elegance and versatility that made the model famous. The Cabriolet version added the pleasure of open-top driving, creating a combination of sporting appeal and refinement that continues to capture the spirit of early Porsches.
