• Launched at the 1992 Earl’s Court Motor Show, the Chimaera was designed by Peter Wheeler and John Ravenscroft as a more touring focused sibling to the Griffith, pairing a steel backbone chassis and glassfibre body with Rover V8 power
• Finished in Red Glow Pearl over mushroom leather, this example was first registered in September 1995 and has covered 95,148 miles. The hood and targa section were renewed in 2013, and the front end benefitted from fresh paint in 2024
• The 3,952cc V8 (around 240bhp when new) drives the rear wheels through a five-speed MT75 manual gearbox, replaced with the rear differential in 2013. A Megasquirt ECU and loom (an aftermarket, programmable engine management system) were fitted at the same time
• In October 2025, Carizma of Melton Mowbray replaced the chassis outriggers, steam cleaned the underside, treated it with black Waxoyl and fitted a new offside headlamp. Two new tyres and a battery were also fitted that year
• The history file holds invoices dating back to 2001, including ones from TVR dealer Walldonway and Lancashire specialist, X Works Service
• A characterful Chimaera with the key chassis work already done, ready for another summer of V8 thunder
