Introduced in the 1960s, the Meyers Manx transformed the humble Volkswagen Beetle into an entirely new kind of recreational vehicle, pairing lightweight fiberglass construction with distinctive styling and remarkable off-road ability. While thousands of conventional two-seat Manxes were produced, the Resorter was a far rarer variation, with the Manx Club reporting just 75 produced. Conceived for use by hotels and, as the name suggests, resorts, it differed in its full-length Volkswagen chassis, four-passenger seating, and low-cut sides, allowing for easier entry and exit.

Built for the 2022 announcement of Meyers Manx’s relaunch, this exceptional Resorter faithfully captures the spirit of the original dune buggy that helped define 1960s California beach culture. The relaunch vehicles utilized either NOS fiberglass bodies or, as on this example, new coachwork made from the original molds, paired with new or restored mechanical and cosmetic components throughout. Finished in Seafoam Green metalflake gelcoat over white upholstery, the Manx is delightful to behold and makes a striking impression. The Resorter offers the same simplicity, open-air fun, and unmistakable personality of the classic Manx, but with the considerable advantage of allowing four people to share in its carefree spirit. A sensational representation of one of the most recognizable vehicles ever created, this Manx is a beautifully finished example built by the company itself during its modern revival.
