Beschreibung

The Toyota 2000GT is one of those cars that needs very little introduction. Built in extremely limited numbers between 1967 and 1970, it was the car that changed the perception of Japanese automobiles forever. Developed with Yamaha, it brought together beautiful Italian-inspired styling, sophisticated engineering and a high-revving straight-six to create a sports car that could stand alongside the finest European cars of its era.

This 1968 Toyota 2000GT was delivered new in Japan and has remained there throughout its entire life. It spent more than 20 years with its last owner, Mr. Sato, who regularly drove his 2000GT through the streets of Tokyo. That history is particularly special for a car of this importance: rather than spending its life hidden away, this 2000GT was genuinely enjoyed and driven in its home country.

Today, it presents in exceptional condition, immediatly showing the great care and quality restoration the car had through its life. The car retains its original magnesium wheels and has no shortage of character, while mechanically it is equally impressive. It is in amazing running and driving condition, feeling tight, responsive and ready to be enjoyed.

Its quality has also been recognised at concours level, where it was awarded Best of Show at the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat Concours d’Élégance.

With its original Japanese history, long-term ownership, original magnesium wheels and outstanding condition, this is a near-perfect example of one of the most important Japanese cars ever built.

A 2000GT that has been cared for, driven and enjoyed in Japan for decades and now ready for its next chapter.
