The Auburn marque ranks among the absolute icons of American automotive history. Originally active in the 1920s and 1930s, Auburn, under the leadership of visionary E.L. Cord, conquered the world with luxurious, sporting and forward-thinking models. The pinnacle of this era was the Auburn 851 Speedster, which made its debut in 1935. With its long bonnet, elegant swept wings and breathtaking boat-tail rear, it became a design icon overnight. The addition of a supercharger made the Speedster not only beautiful, but also astonishingly fast for its time.

Although the Auburn marque folded in 1937 under the weight of the economic depression, the Speedster lived on as a symbol of style, luxury and speed. To this very day it remains one of the most admired classics, cherished by collectors and motoring enthusiasts the world over.
