The 992.2 GT3 is still naturally aspirated, still rear-wheel drive, still without hybrid technology, 25 years after the first GT3. Porsche could have used emissions regulations as a reason to electrify the engine. They didn't. The 4.0 litre flat-six produces 510 ps at 9,000 rpm and now has a shorter final drive ratio, making the car feel more immediate than its predecessor. The double wishbone front suspension, taken directly from the 911 RSR race car, is complemented by aerodynamic front axle bars that generate additional downforce. On the 992.1 those were exclusive to the GT3 RS. This is also the first GT3 model year where the Weissach Package is available on the standard GT3.

Fun fact: Porsche had to fit two particulate filters and four catalytic converters in the 992.2 GT3 to meet stricter emissions standards. Power remained unchanged at 510 ps.

De 992.2 GT3 is 25 jaar na de eerste GT3 nog steeds atmosferisch, nog steeds achterwielaandrijving, nog steeds zonder hybride. Porsche had de emissieregelgeving als excuus kunnen gebruiken om de motor te elektrificeren. Ze deden het niet. De 4,0 liter zescilinder levert 510 pk bij 9.000 toeren en heeft nu een kortere eindoverbrenging, wat de auto directer laat aanvoelen dan zijn voorganger. De dubbele driehoeksophanging vooraan, rechtstreeks afkomstig van de 911 RSR racewagen, is aangevuld met aerodynamische steunen op de vooras die extra neerwaartse druk genereren. Op de 992.1 zaten die uitsluitend op de GT3 RS. Dit is ook het eerste GT3 modeljaar waarbij het Weissach pakket beschikbaar is op de gewone GT3.

Leuk detail: Porsche moest voor de 992.2 GT3 twee roetfilters en vier katalysatoren inbouwen om aan de strengere emissienormen te voldoen. Het vermogen bleef ongewijzigd op 510 pk.

Le six cylindres à plat de 4,0 litres développe 510 ps à 9 000 tr/min et dispose désormais d'un rapport de pont raccourci, ce qui rend la voiture plus directe que son prédécesseur. La suspension avant à double triangle, reprise directement de la 911 RSR de course, est complétée par des barres aérodynamiques sur l'essieu avant qui génèrent un appui supplémentaire. Sur la 992.1, celles-ci étaient réservées à la GT3 RS. C'est également le premier millésime GT3 où le Pack Weissach est disponible sur la GT3 standard.

Anecdote: Porsche a dû intégrer deux filtres à particules et quatre catalyseurs dans la 992.2 GT3 pour respecter les normes d'émissions plus strictes. La puissance est restée inchangée à 510 ps.
