model history
The Volkswagen 1303 LS Cabriolet, also known as the Super Beetle Convertible, is a timeless symbol of classic motoring and vintage charm. Produced in the 1970s, this model combines the iconic design of the original Beetle with a number of mechanical and comfort upgrades that set it apart from earlier versions.
The 1303 LS features a curved windshield, improved suspension (MacPherson struts at the front), and increased cabin space, offering a more refined and comfortable driving experience. As an “LS” version, it includes luxury touches such as a more powerful 1600cc engine, upgraded trim, and enhanced handling.
What truly makes the 1303 Cabriolet special is its fully retractable soft-top roof, allowing drivers and passengers to enjoy open-air driving with the unmistakable character of the Beetle. Whether cruising along scenic routes or turning heads at classic car shows, the 1303 LS Cabriolet is both a collector’s dream and a joy to drive.
With its unique blend of vintage style, engineering upgrades, and undeniable charm, the Volkswagen 1303 LS Cabriolet remains one of the most beloved classic convertibles in automotive history.
our car
Our Super Beetle started its life in the San Francisco area. The first owner had very excellent taste, and ordered his Beetle in an SEB (Porsche colour) colour, namely (L65K) – Ravenna Green. This colour was only delivered in 1974 as a special limited edition from Volkswagen. This is a colour that Porsche supplied on the 911 Carrera RS, which makes this Beetle extra special.
The interior is in very nice original condition equipped with comfort package, with velour floor covering. as well as the hood of the car in Sonneland fabric. This is also in new condition.
The car came to the Netherlands in 1993, after which it was lovingly restored by the first owner who cherished the car for 32 years. Photos of the restoration are also available. The car has been perfectly preserved and fully restored with the best quality parts. This can be seen in all the details after 32 years. Both the bodywork and the bottom and engine are still in mint condition.
Sprintstar Lemmerz rims are fitted under the car, which is how it was intended at the factory. There is original tinted glass, a special limited original wooden gear knob, and a Nardi wooden steering wheel to complete the look. The original steering wheel is present.
After restoration, the car has been driven only 14,700 miles in 32 years. This is completely evident from the car, it is in top condition.
